APPOINTMENTS

How can I make an appointment?

If you wish to make an appointment, please contact the surgery by telephone on 01 455 6299.

Our phone lines can be very busy at times so please bear with us.

When making an appointment you may be asked a series of questions to help prioritise urgency and we ask that you are patient with our receptionists while they gather the necessary information. Please mention when making the appointment if the appointment you require is for a specialised procedure.

A standard consultation is a 15 minute appointment with the GP,  to discuss one issue. Patients with more than one issue to discuss should book an extended appointment to ensure that the appropriate consultation can take place. Otherwise, patients may be asked to book another appointment at a later date. An extended appointment, or an appointment with multiple issues will incur an additional fee.

PRESCRIPTIONS

How can I request a repeat prescription?

If you wish to order a prescription, please provide us with the following;

  • full, itemised, list of the medications you require
  • Your name, date of birth & phone number
  • Name & address of Pharmacy

The request can be left into reception or sent to us by email at  reception@errigalsurgery.ie

Please allow 3 working days for all prescription requests to be processed.  Some prescriptions may incur a fee.

We request that you send us an itemised list for clarifications purposes. This allows us to crosscheck all our prescriptions to avoid any potential errors, especially if you are attending a hospital or consultant and your medications have been recently, or are regularly, amended.

Please note that your request will be reviewed by the Doctor prior to completion and you may be asked to make an appointment for a review and/or blood test in line with Medical Council guidelines.

If you have not been seen in the surgery in the last 12 months, it would be best practice to schedule an appointment at the surgery.

VACCINATIONS

Can I get a Flu Vaccine & COVID-19 Booster?

The 2024/2025 seasonal flu vaccine is now available.

The vaccine is FREE to everyone aged 65 and over, and those in the at-risk groups including pregnant women, those who are immunosuppressed due to disease or treatment and carers of people with high medical risk.

A Covid-19 vaccine is being offered as a booster dose. This vaccine will help protect you from Covid-19. You must wait at least 3 months from your last booster dose, and at least 4 weeks if you have recently tested postitive for Covid-19.

Our vaccination clinics for adults over the age of 18 years are now available to book.

We do expect to conduct child nasal flu clinics in the coming weeks for 2-17 year olds.
